Transfer Station

The Transfer Station will be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. according to the schedule. As part of the Town of Southington's continuing effort to protect our employees and the public, there will be no physical contact. Employees will not be allowed to assist residents with lifting or moving items from their vehicles or into the dumpsters. Please ensure you can lift on your own any items you wish to dispose of. The grace period for acceptance of previous year stickers will be extended through the month of June. Please be prepared to show your driver's license containing a Southington address. Please check back for any updates to this information. New passes can be requested by mail using the mail-in renewal form. New passes will also be available at the Highway/Parks Department on Della Bitta Drive in Plantsville on the following Saturdays: June 20th and June 27th.

Effective May 1, 2010, all residents using the Transfer Station will be required to have a permit to enter the station. Permits must be renewed annually and are available at the Highway/Parks Department on Della Bitta Drive in Plantsville. Click here to view a Bulky Waste Transfer Station Residents Guide which includes all new rules & regulations. The Residents Guide also contains information about allowable vehicles/trailers and the requirements for obtaining permits from the Highway/Parks Department.

Stickers for the permit period April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021 are now available at the Highway/Parks Department.  In order to obtain a new permit you must present a valid driver's  license (indicating town residency) and registration for the vehicle for which you are obtaining the permit.  If your vehicle information AND home address are still the same as when you received your 2019 permit, you may choose to renew your permit(s) through the mail by completing & returning this form to the Highway/Parks Department.

To receive a ONE DAY PASS through the mail, complete this application, print and return to the Highway/Parks Department. Please allow enough time to receive the Pass through the mail.
