Subcommittee members are as follows:

Paul Chaplinsky, Planning and Zoning Commissioner (sub-committee chair)
Pat Saucier, Planning and Zoning Commissioner
Jim Sinclair, Planning and Zoning Commissioner

The sub-committee elected to create a PROBLEM STATEMENT and CHARTER and were determined to be as follows:

Problem Statement - As times change there exists a need to reflect on the regulation and processes the Town of Southington uses for managing various activities related to land use.  To stay current, we realize there may exist inefficiencies or areas for improvement in these land use processes.  An analysis/assessment of historical data and expert feedback shall be conducted to generate the short-term and long-term initiative recommendations for the Commissions to consider.

Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee Charter - Identify and assess areas for continuous improvement by evaluating existing regulations and procedures for new, appended or exception applications for land use including, but not limited to, Planning and Zoning, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Inland Wetlands (as related to Planning and Zoning).  The sub-committee expects to accomplish its goals by utilizing collaborative activities with representatives from each of the functions mentioned as well as Southington town staff as appropriate.
