Town of Southington Water Pollution Control Facility
The Town of Southington operates and maintains an advanced wastewater treatment system as well as over 120 miles of sanitary sewers and 10 pump stations, servicing over 20,000 Southington residents. The remainder of the Town is on septic, which is disposed of at our plant.
The Wastewater facility is capable of secondary solids removal, nitrification, UV disinfection, anaerobic solids digestion and mechanical dewatering of biosolids.
Our facility is designed to handle 7.4 MGD (million gallons a day) average flow, and 15.9 MGD peak flow.
Plant staff consists of 10 Connecticut D.E.P. Certified Operators, working under the direction of the Town Manager and Town Council.
We have 24-hour response to backups, blockages and all other sanitary sewer problems.
Sewer Use and other fees are collected by the Town's Sewer Department, located at Town Hall. The Sewer Department also collects fees for septic dumping, sewer connections and grease interceptors.
