History of the Southington Town Flag

Southington Town FlagIn 1968, the Southington Historical Society conducted research on a flag for the town, and found that the town had never had an official flag of its own. The Southington Historical Society then submitted a letter during the May 13, 1968 Town Council meeting with recommendations for the creation of an official flag.

The Town Council unanimously approved the adoption of a Town Flag on May 27, 1968. The approved motion specified that "the Town of Southington adopt as its official flag, the Town Seal, in color, centered on a rectangular field of blue."
