Youth Martial Arts (Spring 2023)

The Southington Recreation Department, in partnership with Leadership Martial Arts, is pleased to offer introductory Martial Arts programs for children ages 3-12. Children who have already participated in an introductory program at Leadership Martial Arts are NOT eligible to enroll.

All classes will take place at Leadership Martial Arts, 971 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Plantsville. The registration fee covers all 6 weeks of classes (with a maximum of 3 classes attended per week). It is not mandatory to attend every class. Please note, however, that the program cost will remain the same regardless of the number of classes attended.

NOTE: There will be no classes held on Memorial Day - Monday, May 29.

Martial Arts are used to build skills through fun and challenging drills. This approach includes reinforcing good discipline, displaying confidence, and maintaining a positive attitude.


Tiny Tigers (Ages 3-4)

  • $99.00 per child; fee includes a uniform
  • Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, April 24-June 2, 2023
  • 5:30-6:00 PM

Little Dragons (Ages 5-6)

  • $99.00 per child; fee includes a uniform
  • Classes will be offered Monday-Thursday, April 24-June 1, 2023.
  • Participants may attend any 3 out of 4 classes offered each week (your choice). Available class times are as follows:
    • Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:30-5:00 PM
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:45-6:15 PM

Karate Kids (Ages 7-12)

  • $99.00 per child; fee includes a uniform
  • Classes will be offered Monday-Thursday, April 24-June 1, 2023.
  • Participants may attend any 3 out of 4 classes offered each week (your choice). Available class times are as follows:
    • Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:15-5:45 PM
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30-7:00 PM

Registration Information

  • Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Registration forms will be accepted online, by mail, or in person at the Recreation Department office at 388 Pleasant Street, Southington (inside the Calendar House Senior Center).
  • Forms and payments are due in the Recreation Department by 4:30 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023.
