Town Park & Pavilion Rentals

All Town park property rentals require a permit application to be submitted and approved by the Director of Recreation prior to the event date. If a rental fee is associated with the desired property, that fee must be submitted along with the permit application before approval will be granted.

Unless otherwise noted, rentals are available only to Southington residents, organizations, and businesses. Applicants will be provided with a copy of the signed/approved permit application which will serve as proof of reservation. If applying by mail, it is advised to do so at least 2 weeks in advance of your event date.

Panthorn Park Pavilion - Burritt St., Plantsville
  • Open-air, small capacity pavilion located just outside of the playground area
  • 2 bench-style picnic tables under pavilion
  • Rental is free of charge
  • The playground and the small gazebo inside the fenced area are not available to rent at any time
  • Indoor restrooms available seasonally (spring-fall) in a separate building adjacent to the pavilion
  • Serving and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Town property per Ordinance §312-5
  • Use of inflatables (i.e. bounce houses) is prohibited per the Town's insurance policy
  • Decorations are permitted to be hung provided that they are not secured with tacks, nails, or other objects that would cause damage to the pavilion
  • Reservations are permitted during daylight hours only; all park properties close at sunset per Town ordinance

Recreation Park Pavilion - Maxwell Noble Dr., Plantsville
  • Open-air, medium capacity pavilion located in the front of the park between the playground & pool areas
  • 8 bench-style picnic tables under pavilion
  • Rental fee is $50.00
  • Rental fee may be paid by cash (exact change required), check, credit card, or money order. All credit card payments are subject to an additional, non-refundable 3% service fee. Check or money order should be made payable to "Town of Southington"
  • No indoor restrooms available during the 2023 rental season (spring-fall) due to ongoing renovations of the pool and pool house; portable restroom units are available to use in the parking lot next to the tennis courts/solar panels
  • Serving and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Town property per Ordinance §312-5
  • Use of inflatables (i.e. bounce houses) is prohibited per the Town's insurance policy
  • Decorations are permitted to be hung provided that they are not secured with tacks, nails, or other objects that would cause damage to the pavilion

Town Greens - Plantsville & Southington
  • Applicants may request use of the grounds and/or the gazebos located on either Town Green
  • Rental is free of charge
  • Access to electricity may be available upon request
  • Parking is limited; reservation of Town Green space does not include exclusive access to parking areas
  • There are no restroom facilities available at either location
  • Residency requirements may be waived for any couple wishing to utilize one of the gazebos for a brief wedding ceremony, pending date availability
  • A marriage license must be obtained from the Southington Town Clerk's office in order for a legal ceremony to be held within the Town of Southington
  • Serving and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Town property per Ordinance §312-5
  • Use of inflatables (i.e. bounce houses) is prohibited per the Town's insurance policy
  • Decorations are permitted to be hung provided that they are not secured with tacks, nails, or other objects that would cause damage to the gazebo

Misc. Park PropertiesThe grounds of additional Town park properties may be available to rent at the discretion of the Director of Recreation. There are no covered structures, picnic tables, or restrooms included in reservations at these locations. Properties include:

  • Centennial Park - Grove St./Hillside Ave.
  • Crescent Lake - Shuttle Meadow Rd.
  • Dog Park - Mill St.
  • Holcomb Park - Main St.
  • Jaycee Park - Union St.
  • Linear Trail*
  • Memorial Park - Woodruff St.

*Use of the Linear Trail for organized functions such as walks or races may also be subject to approval by the Southington Police Department due to road/traffic safety issues.
