Town Pool/Splash Pad Hours & Rules

ANTICIPATED OPENING DATE FOR THE POOL & SPLASH PAD IS SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2023

The Town of Southington's pool and splash pad facilities are open seasonally to Southington residents only; however, each resident with proper ID may bring one (1) non-resident guest.  Proof of residency must be presented in order to gain entry. There is no fee to use the facilities. Hours are subject to change based on weather conditions or due to pool safety concerns.

Southington resident parents who need a non-resident caregiver to take their children to the pool may obtain a "Non-Resident Caregiver Pool Pass" for the season from the Recreation Department office during regular business hours.  The parent applying for the pass must present proof of residency (a non-expired driver's license or passport is sufficient). There is no fee for the pass. Please call the Recreation office at 860-276-6219 with any questions.


Veterans Memorial Park Pool & Splash Pad

The pool and splash pad at Memorial Park are anticipated to open for the season on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
(Date subject to change, if necessary, due to maintenance, health/safety issues, or inclement weather.)

Opening Week Hours of Operation:

  • Saturday & Sunday (June 10 & 11), 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Monday & Tuesday (June 12 & 13), 3:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Wednesday-Friday (June 14-16), 11:30 AM - 8:30 PM

Regular Hours of Operation (Beginning 6/17/23):

  • Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM - 8:30 PM

Due to pool and poolhouse/changing room renovations, this facility will remain CLOSED for the entirety of the 2023 pool season.

Memorial Pool/Splash Pad Rules

  1. No food in pool or splash pad areas
  2. Water is the only beverage permitted in the pool and splash pad areas; water must be in a clear container (glass containers not allowed)
  3. Any persons known or suspected of having a communicable disease shall not use the pool
  4. Lounge chairs are restricted to larger areas on pool deck
  5. Proper swim wear required
  6. Shower before entering pool
  7. Diving is only allowed in 10 feet; no flipping
  8. No pushing, shoving, rough play, carrying others on shoulders, etc.
  9. ONLY Coast Guard approved floats are allowed
  10. ONLY goggles are allowed (no masks or snorkels)
  11. Regular diapers are prohibited (swim diapers are allowed)
  12. Smoking is prohibited in pool and splash pad areas

COVID-19 Related Pool Rules

The following rules apply to the pool facilities at both Recreation and Memorial Parks in addition to the standard pool rules:

  1. Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well.
  2. Swimmers/patrons should not sit or otherwise block walkways, pool entrances, or any narrow passage area.
  3. No sharing of personal equipment (goggles, nose clips, flotation devices, or toys).
  4. Wash hands often for at least 20 seconds to practice good personal hygiene.
