STEAM Camp: Ages 5-6 (Summer 2022)

**PROGRAM CANCELLED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT**

The Southington Recreation Department, in conjunction with Exceptional Youth Educational Services (EYES), is pleased to offer a 1-week S.T.E.A.M. Camp Using LEGO® for children ages 5 & 6. There are no residency requirements to participate.

S.T.E.A.M. is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics to guide student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

Program Details

  • $130.00 per Southington resident child;
    $140.00 per non-resident child
  • Monday-Friday, August 15-19, 2022
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM daily
  • Southington Police Dept. Education Room, 69 Lazy Lane, Southington

"Building Up S.T.E.A.M." Program
Children will work independently and cooperatively as they begin to explore simple machines using LEGO® DUPLO® early childhood materials. Each child will have the opportunity to work with and bring home evidence-based lab sheets to share with family to continue the learning process outside of camp. Projects may include spin tops, motorcycles, and hockey players. Come build with us!

Registration Information

  • Registration forms will be accepted online, by mail, or in person at the Recreation Department.
  • Forms and payments are due by 4:30 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022.
