Gold Star Families Memorial Naming Ceremony 2022

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and the Gold Star Families of Connecticut is planning a ceremony to honor all Connecticut Gold Star Families to be held this fall.  As such, we are reaching out to the Parents, Children and Spouses of Connecticut Service Members who died while serving on active duty including National Guard and Reserve who were serving on active duty or who were on duty for training purposes.  Service Member is defined as a person born in Connecticut or who entered military service or was discharged from service in Connecticut or who has significant long-term ties to Connecticut.

The event will include a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and the naming of the DVA Auditorium as: “Connecticut Gold Star Families Memorial Auditorium”, which will be followed by a memorial ceremony and reception.
The names of qualifying service members will be listed on placards and read during the ceremony, and a permanent plaque of those names will be placed in the Auditorium along with the names of those killed in combat operations since September 11, 2001, who are currently on the Wall of Honor at the State Capitol.

Parents, Children or Spouses of such a qualifying service member who wish to include honoring their loved one as part of this ceremony may do so by completing the form below and submitting it by September 30, 2022 to: ctgoldstarfamilies@gmail.com.
