The Playground Program is open to Southington resident children, ages 5-12.

Registrations will be accepted by mail, in person, or by email* (*with restrictions; see info below under "Ways to Register") at the Recreation Department office beginning Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10:00 am. There is no online reservation system this year.

Space will not be held for any child without submitting the proper paperwork AND payment. The required registration form may be downloaded/printed from the link below; hard copies of the form will also be available to pick up in the Recreation Department office.

UPDATE 4/25: Sessions 2 & 3 are SOLD OUT. Space is still currently available in Sessions 1 and 4.

• Families who submit registrations by mail will receive an email confirmation once received and processed by the Recreation office.

IN PERSON

• Recreation Department office at Calendar House Senior Center, 388 Pleasant Street, Southington
• Regular Office Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Holiday Office Closures: Friday, March 29 (Good Friday); Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day)
• Recreation Staff may be unavailable to assist customers during lunchtime, typically 12-1 PM. Please feel free to call the office in advance at 860-276-6219 if you plan to visit the office mid-day to ensure someone will be in the office to accept your registration.
• Completed forms and payments may be left with the Senior Center's front desk staff if the Recreation office is temporarily closed for any reason (lunch, meeting, etc.); however, the Senior Center staff will not be able to confirm your registration or provide a payment receipt.
• A secure drop box is also available if you wish to drop off your form & payment any time the building is closed. The box is located on the wall to the left of the main entrance. Staff will collect items from the box on the next business day and will send you a registration confirmation by email.

• Registration forms may be submitted by email in .PDF format ONLY. The form must remain in its original letter size (8.5" x 11"). Photos of the form will not be accepted; no exceptions.
• Registration will not be accepted or confirmed until payment has also been received.

• Cash - Exact amount ONLY; office does not keep cash on hand to break bills/make change.

• Credit Card - Additional 3% Service Fee Applies

Financial aid may be available through Southington Community Services. Eligible families may receive a "scholarship" worth up to $150 per child. Please call the SCS office at 860-628-3761 to make an appointment PRIOR to attempting to register for the Playground Program. A scholarship letter will be given to those who qualify. This letter will need to be turned in to the Recreation Department as payment along with the required program registration form.
